The coffee social, this past Saturday, was a success. A ‘yummy’ thank you to the social committee
for the wonderful pastries, bagels, fruit and coffee.
Our guest speaker, Community Relations Officer from the
Canton Police Department, Patty Esselink, gave a brief presentation about the
Partners in Your Safety Program (similar to what used to be the Neighborhood
Watch Program); and also provided brochures explaining this program. In order for our community to qualify for
street signs and window signs, etc. we must have the owner(s) of 25% or more of
our units represented at one of the following informational meetings held at
the Summit: Tuesday,
February 16, 2016 – 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday,
April, 13, 2016 – 7:00 p.m. Officer Esselink will give a presentation at these meetings that should take
under 1 hour.
Christine Meath and Ray Losi have volunteered to be the team
leaders for our community. Although this
is last minute notice, it is their goal that our association meet the 25%
requirement at the meeting this coming Tuesday. Please take 1 hour out of your evening this
Tuesday to attend the meeting at the Summit.
Anyone that needs transportation to the meeting on Tuesday may contact
Christine at: 248-880-9201, christinemeath@gmail.com.
Officer Esselink also encourages the Vistas co-owners to follow the Public
Safety Department on Facebook and Twitter; and on their website: http://www.cantonpublicsafety.org/. And to join or sign up for the following:
“Next Door” - a social media network for residents to share
information privately among member of their own neighborhood. https://vistasofcentralpark.nextdoor.com/
“Nixel” - to receive notifications of crime, weather and
traffic alerts, etc. (see http://www.cantonpublicsafety.org/
)
“Notify Me” to receive emergency alerts from Canton Public
Safety (see http://www.cantonpublicsafety.org/
