This is most likely the final blog of the year! Several miscellaneous items follow; in no particular order, but all worth your review.
One personal item just from me. Please bear with me :)
We've had another great year led by our President Denny Fueling - although I've been on the board for a short time, I am in awe of the effort and time he has committed for us (his neighbors) to maintain and better our environment! Thank you Denny -- and of course the other board members - Rick, Ernie, and Tom. I look forward to working with you in 2014!

The last coffee social was the best attended that we've had yet! Thank you to the Social Committee led by Ellen Robertson and her excellent support team. Last year we had a superb Golf Outing, Beef n Beer Social, as well as several Friday Night Social and Saturday Coffee Socials.
This may be a great time to mention that Ellen has kindly managed the social activities as an "interim" Chairman during 2013 as we continue to look for a volunteer for this special committee. There are lots of ideas, and a promise you won't be deserted by the current crew of volunteers if you accept the challenge. Send me an email if you are interested and we can provide all the information you require before making a decision. What a wonderful way it would be to start off 2014!

Association Notes of Interest:
As we wrap up 2013, the Board is happy to report that there is no anticipated increase in monthly
dues; pending outcome of current year expenses.
Also, effective January 1, 2014 club house rentals have been reduced to $150 + a returnable security deposit of $250. This reduction is intended to allow more people to use the club house for special events. All currents use rules remain the same, just the rental charge is reduced.
Several homeowners in Vistas II has advised that a some insurance companies will not cover water damage to our units caused from frozen pipes, if you leave your thermostat below 60 degrees. It has been commonly thought 55 degrees was adequate to keep water pipes from freezing when you leave your condo. Now insurance companies want you to leave your condo no cooler than 60 degrees.
Believe! |
If a homeowner puts wreath's on their carriage lights {as many have) you must make sure your address is visible for emergency vehicles. Many wreath's cover the address and some mail boxes are not in front of all condos. This leaves emergency vehicle unable to quickly identify the address. Wreaths do not have to be taken down, just adjusted to insure the address is visible.
(Additionally, only white light bulbs are allowed in the carriage lights, no colored lights.)
Trash Pickup - Due to the Holidays falling on Tuesday and Wednesday this year, a reminder that for the weeks of Christmas and New Year's, our trash collection will be on Friday rather than the normal pickup on Wednesday. Trash and recycle should be out and ready for collection by 6:30 a.m.
There are still many opportunities to "get in the spirit" by attending a function at the Canton Village Theatre. Please visit cantonvillagetheater.org for specific information. There are Chorale concerts, Dance spectaculars, and just before the New Year - Magic Shows and Star Tributes! I hope you have a chance to enjoy one or more events.
The Board extends wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We look forward to helping make 2014 another great year.
