Damage to Commons - Water Break

From President Dunmore:

I received a call from Kevin, the Supervisor of Public Works. He says our commons area will not be restored until the spring due to the following reasons:

1. The area that they tore up has to cure before they can restore the grounds.

2. They are not able to restore because the ground/dirt is hard; and if they try to restore it now, it will leave a slump in the ground after it settles when it gets warm.

3 Which means they would have to get more dirt and come out again in the spring; they don’t want to do it twice.

4. Lastly, they will not be able to buy sod until the spring to replace the sod that gone.

In closing, they have had many water main breaks and actually one today in another Canton area and for the same reasons listed above communities will not be restored until spring.
