Jerome "Jerry" F. Simowski, age 93, passed away
Tuesday, October 10th, 2017. Loving husband of Barbara for 68
years. Beloved father of Michael (Joyce) and Lynne (Walt) Hunter.
Grandfather of Eric (Annette), Jason, Scott (Adrienne), Jennifer (Joe), and Joe
(Kate). Great-grandfather of Jacob, Zachary, Niko, Olivia, Weston, Logan,
Addison, and Raymond. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen
and Catherine (nee. Pfeiffer), and his brother Stephen Simowski.
Jerry had received his B.S. Degree from Central Michigan
University in 1950. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Medical
Corp. Jerry retired after 34 years of service from the Chrysler
Corporation, the last 15 of those years as Facilities Manager with Chrysler
Financial Corporation. Earlier in life, he had been a Deacon of the 1st
Congregational Church of Central Lake, served on the Antrim County Economic
Development Board, was a member of the Central Lake Lions Club and Central Lake
Township Library Board, "Us Too" Prostate Cancer Support Group,
Munson Medical Center and Board of Advisors, Area Agency on Aging of Northwest
Michigan. Jerry had always been a very active volunteer.
