The
Canton Police Department has been receiving more complaints from residents
regarding Internal Revenue Service (IRS) telephone scams. The IRS will never
contact you by telephone to inform you of tax money owed from previous tax years
but will only correspond by certified mail. If you receive a telephone call
claiming the person is an IRS agent and they are ordering you to pay a
designated amount of money to them or there will be a warrant issued for your
arrest do not believe them and hang up the telephone.
This is a scam!!! |
