October Updates 

Driveway Repair:
Ernie Cesarone will be going around the association next Saturday October 19th looking at the driveways with our contracted cement company.  If anyone needs caulking in their driveway please send him an  e-mail at cesaronema@wowway.com (please be sure to include your address). Send him an email immediately as it's this Saturday, the 19th, that they will be doing their survey! If they don't receive a request, they will not be able to do the caulking. 
They will also be looking at what needs to be done in the driveways to include in next year's budget.  A few items can still be completed with monies left this year (eg. caulking and a few additional small jobs).  

Just a few tidbits:
This Sunday, Oct 20, is the last regularly scheduled Farmer's Market. It's held from 10:30 - 1:00 at Preservation Park on Ridge Road.  There is a Harvest Market on Sunday, November 24 to buy your Harvest items for Thanksgiving Dinner.  Lets enjoy the fresh produce while we can.

The season for sharing is gearing up!  I know there are several organizations such as Goodfellows, Great Harvest, etc., that are organizing for donations of food and winter accessories to help those that can't make ends meet. 

Your Sunshine Committee has an idea for a potluck dinner that also gives back to our community - the premise is that everyone brings a dish, but also pays $5.00 per person to eat.  When you pay your entry, you also write the name of your favorite charity or non-profit and place the ticket in the fish bowl.  After a wonderful evening of sharing a meal with your neighbors, a ticket is drawn and the money gathered from the $5 admissions will be donated to that charity!  What are your thoughts - is it something you would be interested in attending?  Let me know by email - if we do it this fall we'll have to pick a date soon (christinemeath@gmail.com)

Don't forget Making a Difference Day 2013 - which falls on October 26!!  Even if you aren't involved in an organized volunteer activity, make a difference by passing along a just a simple kindness!
